Experience the Great Outdoors at Cast, Blast, and Glass

The Colorado Parks and Wildlife department is hosting a unique event that will allow kids and families to experience the great outdoors in a fun and interactive way. The Cast, Blast, and Glass event is set to take place on April 26 at Riverbend Park in Palisade, Colorado.

Hands-on Activities

  • Fishing
  • Shooting
  • Wildlife Viewing

Kids and families will have the chance to try out new hobbies and activities, including fishing, shooting, and wildlife viewing. This event is designed to be an introduction to the outdoors, where kids can come out, try something new, and potentially fall in love with it. The goal is to provide an opportunity for kids to explore the outdoors as they grow up. The event is free for everyone, and no prior experience or equipment is required to attend. Staff at the event will be on hand to help those new to using the outdoor equipment. This is especially important, as trying new things can be intimidating, especially when there are many different pieces of equipment involved.

What to Expect

Free 10:00 am – 2:00 pm Palisade, Colorado

The event will be held at Riverbend Park, and will run from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The event is free, and there is no prior experience or equipment required to attend. CPW will have fishing equipment available, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own equipment as well. However, CPW asks that participants do not bring any firearms, as they will be provided.

Benefits of the Event

  1. Introduce kids to new outdoor activities
  2. Provide an opportunity for kids to explore the outdoors
  3. Give parents and kids the chance to spend quality time together

The event is designed to have a positive impact on both kids and families. By introducing kids to new outdoor activities, providing an opportunity for them to explore the outdoors, and giving parents and kids the chance to spend quality time together, the event aims to promote a sense of connection and community.

Quote from Christina French

“It’s very hard for kids to get outdoors these days. Parents can be busy, so we’re hoping that it being on a Saturday, it’ll give both parents and their kids the opportunity to get out and really connect over something that maybe both of them fall in love with and want to do more.”

— Christina French, District Wildlife Manager for CPW

The Cast, Blast, and Glass event is a unique opportunity for kids and families to experience the great outdoors in a fun and interactive way.
